Acromion Process

Scapula, posterior view. Click to enlarge.This is the large ridge on the posterior surface of the scapula.

It extends over the neck of the scapula, and attaches to the clavicle (collar bone) through the acromioclavicular ligament. This joint is called the acromioclavicular (or AC) joint.
